The strategic sourcing discipline is applicable to all major procurement activities. Besides procurement professionals, CSSP also recognizes strategic sourcing competencies of marketing, legal, information technology, and human resource practitioners engaged in purchasing and contracting.

CSSP™ Eligibility

 

  • Procurement, supply chain, operations, marketing, information technology, or human resource professionals who source goods, material and services.
  • The applicant must have at least three years of involvement in the procurement process for goods, materials and services (excluding clerical and support).
Process of Certification

 

  • CSSP Eligibility
  • Acquire knowledge on strategic sourcing
  • Examination or submission of Strategic Sourcing Project
  • Certification
Recertification

 

The CSSP™ designation is valid for 3 years, after which the professional must apply for recertification.

  • Second examination or further submission of Strategic Sourcing Project
  • OR Attending courses of at least 45 Continuing Education Hours (CEHs) specific to aspects of strategic sourcing, and/or teaching or coaching strategic sourcing
